Our
Services
Horizon Metals offers a variety of services in the field of casting manufacturing and processing. We provide tooling design and simulation, various levels of certification, heat treat, and machining services. This enables us to be a one-stop shop for our customers, saving them time and money in their casting acquisition endeavors.
We use state-of-the-art CAD and simulation software to ensure that your patterns are being designed and utilized as efficiently as possible while still providing you with high quality castings. This software is also useful in identifying and eliminating problems or inefficiencies that may be present in existing tooling.
We have a low/medium volume, high-mix, production model that provides us exceptional production scheduling flexibility, and allows us to respond quickly to our customers’ needs and mitigate expensive downtime in emergency situations.
Our in-house quality assurance personnel will work closely with you to understand the fit and function of every casting we provide you and strive to ensure that you never receive a faulty part. Each casting is carefully inspected and evaluated to ensure it meets your specifications, and we can also provide chemical, mechanical, and dimensional certifications to meet your requirements.

Casting
Also known as air-set casing, no-bake molding combines the ease and versatility of traditional sand casting methods with the most sophisticated modern advances. In this method, sand is mixed with liquid resin and a catalyst instead of the traditional clay. This method allows our experts to create a fast-setting mold that cures at room temperature, thus eliminating the need for mold boxes and decreasing the time and cost involved in production.
This process allows us to create extremely large, complex, or heavy castings (up to 4,000 lbs) with ease that once would have been difficult and prohibitively expensive to create. The surface finish from a no-bake cast is also significantly better than that of a traditional sand cast, reducing the cost of finishing labor on your project.
Induction Melting
Our foundry can melt up to 4,000 lbs of any metal or alloy we process, and do so with a precision and efficiency not found in traditional furnaces. The magnetically-induced eddy currents that form within the molten metal create a more uniform temperature and composition throughout the batch, resulting in more uniform pieces and high quality control. Since the temperature is highly controllable, the metal is never hotter than necessary, reducing the loss of alloying elements.
